We Believe there is one God, who is infinite and perfect, existing in three persons, God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. (Psalm 90:1-2; Acts 17:24-28; II Corinthians 13:14) We Believe that Jesus Christ is true God and true man. He was conceived of the Holy Spirit and to a virgin girl named Mary. He lived a perfect life. He was executed on the cross in our place, paying the price for the sins that we have committed. He arose from the dead after three days and now is at the right hand of God the Father. He is intimately aware of and caring for our needs, He is preparing a place for us in Heaven and will come again to take us to be with Him. (Isaiah 9:6; Matthew 1:22-23; John 1:1-5; Hebrews 4:14-16) We Believe the Holy Spirit is a Divine person, sent to convince people of their sin, and their need to be made right with God. He guides, teaches, and empowers each believer for daily living. (John 14:15-31; 16:7-15) We Believe the Bible, consisting of both the Old and the New Testaments, is without error as originally given. Its words themselves are inspired by God and it is a revelation of His will for mankind. The Bible is our only standard for what we believe and how we live. (Hebrews 4:12-13; II Timothy 3:16-17) We Believe people were originally created in the image and likeness of God, but fell from that perfection through intentional disobedience, thereby incurring both physical and spiritual separation from God. Now everyone is born with a sinful nature, and is separated from the life of God, but can be restored by personally trusting in what Jesus Christ did for them when he died on the cross and came back to life. (Romans 3:23; 5:12-19; 6:23) We Believe salvation has been provided through Jesus Christ for every single person. Those who change their mind about Him by going from unbelief to belief, and trust what He’s done for them, are spiritually reborn, receive the free gift of intimacy with God, and become children of God. (John 3:16; Acts 2:21; Romans 10:9-13) We Believe it is the will of God that each believer should be empowered by the Holy Spirit and be set apart for God, being set apart from sin and fully dedicated to God’s purposes. This is a lifelong process that can include both crisis experiences and progressive experiences. (Galatians 5:16-25; Ephesians 5:18) We Believe provision is made by Jesus Christ for the healing of the physical, emotional, and mental aspects of each person. Prayer for the sick and anointing with oil are taught in the Bible and are the privileges for the church in this present age. (Isaiah 53:5; James 5:13-16) We Believe the Church consists of everyone who has trusted Jesus Christ for their salvation. This decision must be made personally, thoughtfully, and consciously. Christ is the Head of every Christian church, and it’s His plan that we should love God, love others, and to go into all the world and tell everyone what He has done for us all. (Ephesians 5:23; Matthew 28:18-20) We Believe that in the future every person will come back to life when Jesus returns, both those who have trusted Christ and those who have not. For those who have trusted Christ, this resurrection is for eternity in Heaven, for those who have not accepted Jesus Christ, an eternity in a literal Hell. Jesus does not want even one person to go to Hell. He died on the cross so that every person can be saved from this terrible outcome. (I Corinthians 15:35-57; Hebrews 9:27; Revelation 20:11-15; II Peter 3:9) We Believe that Jesus can come back at any time. His return is something we look forward to and is an incentive to love and serve others. (I Thessalonians 4:13-18) |
